The Fingerboards Critical Minerals Project will generate around 400 jobs during construction, followed by approximately 300 ongoing, permanent operational roles once construction is complete. These roles will deliver long-term economic and social benefits by creating trainable, locally focused opportunities across East Gippsland in areas such as construction, mechanical services, engineering, land management, and mobile equipment operations.
GCM has a Gippsland-First Procurement Policy to ensure preference for Gippsland-based suppliers and contractors who employ local residents and align with strong health, safety, environmental and ethical standards. This approach will generate substantial local business opportunities in areas such as fabrication, maintenance, logistics, and supply, while supporting underrepresented groups including First Nations peoples, women, youth, and displaced workers.
