2023 Round 2 recipients

Metung Swan Reach Cricket Club - We are looking to upgrade our training nets to meet cricket victoria minimum standards. This is for practical purposes but also Health and Safety reasons. Our cricket club, c40 senior members and 80 junior members. Local schools and general public who use our facilities

Stratford Pony Club - The objective of the Stratford Pony Club - Child Safe Play Area Project is to provide a safe play space for the young children that attend our club activities.The Club intends to build a fenced in play area adjacent to the Club Rooms. Within the play area will be a sandpit and a mulched general play area. The main aim of the project is to increase the level of child safety at our club, and to minimise the potential risks associated with a busy Pony Club environment whilst also providing a fun space for our young members to play.

Bairnsdale Chamber of Commerce - The primary objectives are to provide an event that will increase activity within the central business district of Bairnsdale, encourage locals to shop local and create foundations for a cohesive retail community.The success of the original Laneway3875, established by the Bairnsdale Chamber of Commerce and Industry has established a starting point to build on in conjunction with other existing events such as the Bairnsdale Annual Christmas Parade. We are seeking to continue the Laneway3875 events - with the ultimate aim of doing 4 per year that link in with key themes and emerging local events. However, with this application we are specifically seeking funding to assist us with the upcoming Winterfest Laneway3875 on 8 July 2023.

Longford Horse & Pony Club, Longford Adult Riding Club - Our Clubs' (Longford Horse and Pony Club and Longford Adult Riding Club) are located on the corner of Abel’s Road and Boyle Road, situated on 10 acres of reserve. Our aim to safely promote the equestrian sport for both children and adults in the local area (including outlying areas such as Seaspray, Gifford, Stradbroke, Dariman, Woodside). We endeavour to provide a safe facility to hold equestrian events, run training clinics for local, metropolitan and for the wider communities in our area. Our aim is to ensure our grounds are once again safe for all our riders.

Seed Lakeside Community Garden - Seed will schedule a number of free activities, centred around good mental health for the community to participate in at no cost. These activities will include group walks, meet and eat style cooking class, craft activities, yoga, tai chi and meditation. Seed will also focus on promoting other supportive organisations, community groups and how to access support services such as Beyond blue, Black Dog and RU OK? through-out the month.

East Gippsland Performing Arts Eisteddfod - 2023 East Gippsland Performing Arts Eisteddfod

East Gippsland Timber Milling Project - To provide free milling operations to fallen timber on farms where it has been impacted by 2020 fires in East gippsland. The timber cut is primarily used to repair fencing and stockyards lost in the fire.

Cowwarr Football Netball Club - Portable netball stand and net

Bairnsdale Boxing Club - Purchase new gear to assist young people training at the boxing gym. Events run then contribute a percentage of funding to the Make A Wish foundation

Sale Food Support Inc - To continue to help support individuals and families who reside within the Wellington Shire. Our aim is to provide each fortnight an amount of groceries and perishable food items (fruit, vegetables, bread, frozen meals) at an amount that will enable them to purchase at the supermarket other items they need also allow our clients to help with their budgeting choices towards necessary bill repayments.

Orbost Hockey Club - $2,000 for a Synthetic Playing surface - Total fund cost $2500

Orbost Agricultural Society - $2,000 for Prizes, sashes for annual equestrian event

Gippsland Auto Museum Inc - $2,000 for their Guard Van Project

Wurruk Community House - $2,000 for the purchase of a AED Defibrillator

Orbost Pony Club - $2,000 for the purchase of a AED Defibrillator

2021 Round 2 recipients

Bairnsdale Football Netball Club Inc – funding for new netball dresses.

Orbost Snowy Rovers Football Netball Club – for new posts at the netball courts which will provide the club with an extra court to use both in and out of the season.

Sale Tennis Club – to purchase a ball thrower. Our support complements the ANZ Hotshots program with is promoted throughout Gippsland.

Westdale Kindergarten Bairnsdale – to develop the cubby house and vegetable garden.

Wy Yung Angling Club – to purchase a defibrillator which will benefit the angling club, the football/netball club, cricket club and junior football club.

2021 Round 1 recipients

Lindenow Memorial Hall – to replace old and mismatched crockery and cutlery in the hall which is used extensively by elderly residents in the area and well utilised for a range of social functions that support the local community.

Metung Community Garden – to buy materials to create new garden beds to expand the community garden which connects people within the community and builds skills in how to grow vegetables and benefit community members by consuming freshly-grown produce.

Lindenow South Football Netball Club – to purchase football jumpers for the first women’s football team, with a portion of the funds to be allocated towards jumpers for Indigenous players.

East Gippsland Rail Trail – funds to build seats and tables along the rail trail which stretches 100 kilometres from Bairnsdale to Orbost. The trail is used regularly by cyclists, walkers and horse riders.

George Gray Centre, Maffra – to purchase an Obie interactive gaming console which encourages active movement through touching, moving and hand-eye coordination. The Centre is a long-standing and highly-regarded disability day care for disabled people over 18 years of age. The Centre encourages integration into the workforce using their own gardening service and onsite café.
