Community members have expressed an interest in accessing the Victorian Government Renewal Instruments and the associated maps that have recently been provided for the rescoped Fingerboard Rare Earths and Critical Minerals Project.
The documents with maps can be viewed and downloaded for Retention Licenses RL2026 and RL2023 and Exploration License EL5395. More information on GCM’s license renewals is available on the Victorian Government’s Resources Victoria website.
It is important to note that GCM’s Fingerboards Project will sit substantially inside these license boundaries with additional buffers in place to safeguard agricultural areas and gullies fenced off to create conservation areas (see map). The progressive mining technique means mining occurs in sections with no more than around 15% of the total area being open at any one time. Mined areas are then immediately rehabilitated. The exploration and retention licenses should be read in conjunction with the project map provided on our website, which also details the mining technique.
