Following our winter ecology survey, our recent work has seen us installing a wide range of monitoring stations to provide baseline data and information about air quality, surface water and weather. In the coming weeks, this will include installing a second weather station near the site of our proposed demonstration pit, providing GCM with a more detailed picture of weather variations at the Fingerboards site, and addressing concerns raised about the previous approach involving one weather station.

We also have a number of biomass exclusion cages to build our understanding of local grasses and how they grow without disturbance.

We are also making progress with our other technical studies, including the appointment of an agriculture and horticulture technical specialist. This study will provide GCM with a deeper understanding of potential impacts of the project on local agriculture, including examining issues such as dust, water and high-value horticultural production.
