Wurruk Community House, the George Gray Centre, the Sale Tennis Club and the Sale Pony Club are the latest recipients of a total of $10,000 of community grants from Gippsland Critical Minerals (GCM).
GCM’s Community Grants program provides $10,000 in grants each quarter to support community projects and initiatives in Bairnsdale, Sale, and throughout Gippsland, with a focus on local educational, recreational, environmental, and social initiatives.
GCM’s Janet Robertson said: “It’s exciting to support each of these local organisations who are doing amazing work in our local community with a $2,500 grant.
“At Wurruk Community House, the grant will help with a new garden shed and tools for their youth garden program, while at the George Gray Centre, the funds will provide art supplies for the inclusive art studio assisting people with disability. “The grants will also support much-needed shade sales for the spectator area at the Sale Tennis Club, and at the Sale Pony Club, it will provide funds for furniture and a whiteboard for its learning sessions.
“GCM is working hard to build links and engage local community members while we continue to examine the Fingerboards Critical Minerals Project. “Our community grants program is a small way for us to give back to the local community and support the important work of local organisations in health including mental health, aged care, education, theatre and the arts, environment and sport.”
Applications for GCM's next round of community grants open on 28 October and close on 29 November 2024. Not-for-profit, sporting and recreational, and community organisations across the East Gippsland and Wellington Council areas are eligible to apply.
Eligibility criteria and online applications are available via the Gippsland Critical Minerals website at gippslandcriticalminerals.com.
