We will always welcome scrutiny and questions about our project, including from regulators, the VFF, local farmers and the wider community.
The VFF is right to seek assurances about protections for farmers. Unfortunately, it has been given misleading information about our demonstration site, causing unnecessary concern in the community.
The facts are straightforward about high winds on 15 September: the demonstration pit was completely backfilled, no active works were underway, the visible dust was topsoil, not heavy mineral concentrate, and strong gusts briefly lifted it from the backfilled ground.
Our local team responded immediately with established dust controls. At no point did dust levels exceed applicable EPA limits.
Mine Free Glenaladale’s only previous air quality complaint was later retracted when its concerns were confirmed to relate to fog, not dust. Misinformation like this creates needless anxiety and undermines informed discussion.
We share the VFF’s view that environmental impacts must be adequately managed. That is precisely why we have redesigned the Fingerboards Critical Minerals Project with robust environmental protections.
Our invitation to the VFF remains open: visit the site, meet our local team, and examine the controls firsthand.
It is vital that the VFF and the farmers it represents have access to accurate information. We welcome their questions and stand ready to provide the facts.
In addition to the Timelapse video on our Facebook, we have provided screenshots from our Timelapse camera relating to the period from the 15th of September.
